TikTok memes now lured me into watching an HBO suitcom "Succession", which I found quite entertaining. But I cannot quite fathom super-wealthy people struggling so much with soap opera problems and intrigue amongst themselves, given how 1) they could afford the best therapists in the world, and 2) don't experience much material scarcity forcing them into competition about limited resources. To focus much of the narrative around daddy issues seems like a common screenwriting cop-out when a real conflict is hard to come by.
